Dr. Parminder Singh Bindra was born in Itarsi (M.P.) from where he did his primary education. In year 1981, he completed his M.B.B.S. from Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. Following graduation, he completed his post graduation in ophthalmology in 1984. Afterwards, he also did MD in Preventive and Social Medicine (PSM) in 1986. He served as Demonstrator in PSM department in Gandhi medical college from 1984 to 1997. He also completed master’s degree in Homeopathy in 1994. For more than 30 years , Dr. P. S. Bindra has been working relentlessly in the field of ophthalmology and providing his services to lakhs of patients. He is a seasoned surgeon having done more than 80 thousand surgeries and performs almost all types of anterior segment and oculoplasty surgeries including phacoemulsification, LASIK and refractive surgeries, trabeculectomy, entropion, ectropion, lid surgeries, etc. He has received innumerous felicitations from Rotary club, Arya samaj, Lions club, Bhopal Punjabi Samaj and National Program For control of Blindness. He also has been an active member of All India Ophthalmic Society, Delhi Ophthalmic Society, Madhya Pradesh State Ophthalmic Society and has delivered lectures in various institutes including Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre. In 2014, he laid foundation of Matashree Netralaya, which has all subspecialties under one roof. Matashree Netralaya in the last 2 years has screened more than 20 schools and day care centers, conducted camps on regular basis, has screened and provided information on glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, eye donation and eye transplantation. In future, it aims at providing satellite centers and teleophthalmology to remote centers of Madhya Pradesh.
